Nathan A. Johnson , age 45 of Fairborn, passed away along with his two daughters, Savannah and Karaline, as a result of a tragic automobile accident on June 29, 2023. He was born June 7, 1978 in Gainesville, Georgia, the son of Arnold and Barbara (Brooks) Johnson.
Nathan served his country on active duty in the U.S. Navy in navigation aboard the USS Florida (SSBN-728/SSGN-728) submarine. Following his active duty service he joined the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was serving with the 910th Airlift Wing at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station. His current full time employment was an Intelligence Analyst contractor at Wright-Patterson AFB. Nathan valued the many bonds and friendships made from his time in the military and civilian sectors.
A strong man of faith, Nathan and his family currently attended Victory Church in Fairborn and he had also served as a deacon at First Baptist Church-Fairborn. He participated in youth soccer growing up and enjoyed teaching his children how to play. Family was most important to Nathan and he lived for his wife, six children, and entire family. He enjoyed watching his children grow, assisting when called upon, advising when asked, serving as the family Uber driver, and having fun as a dance dad with his girls.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Marty Amos, Sr. Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Jamie; adoring children, Natalie, Jude, Abigail, Esther; parents, Arnold and Barbara; brother, Stephen (Christina) Johnson; mother-in-law, Christy Amos; brother-in-law, Marty Jr. (Chelsea) Amos; sister-in-law, Stacey (Chad) Pickett; as well nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends.
Savannah , age 15, and Karaline , age 13, the two oldest daughters of Nathan and Jamie (Amos) Johnson, passed away with their father in a tragic auto accident on June 29, 2023. Savannah was born February 28, 2008 in Jacksonville, Florida and Karaline on November 2, 2009 in Lexington, Kentucky.
An aspiring cosmetologist, Savannah was always looking for a willing volunteer to let her practice her hair and makeup skills and was always giving her sisters manicures. Savannah was in the Teachers in Training program at MVDC, having the desire to become a dance teacher one day.
Karaline had the gift of humor and was always able to make people laugh with her jokes and funny demeanor. As an animal lover, Karaline wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up.
They both had a love for dance and were current members of the top tier Miami Valley Dance Center's Dance Force team. Savannah and Karaline were the best big sisters, loving daughters and granddaughters, and thoughtful friends to all who knew and loved them. Their legacy will live on in the many lives they touched in their short time on this earth.
A time for family and friends to gather and honor the lives of Nathan, Savannah, and Karaline will be held on Wednesday July 5, 2023 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Victory Church, 2443 Valley Greene Dr., Fairborn, where funeral services will be held on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 10:00 A.M., Pastor Derek Trenum and Pastor Matt Williams officiating.
