Carl Elmer Fiffe (Fyffe), age 82 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday August 27, 2022. He was born July 2, 1940 in Relief, Kentucky, the son of the late Willie and Flozzie (Conley) Fyffe.
Carl served his country in the US Army from 1960-1964 and followed with employment with Chrysler, retiring in 2000 after over 30 years of service. Carl was a longtime member of the Faith Hill Church of God in Fairborn, and he sang with the Home Gate Quartet for 35 years all over the area and was appreciative of all the friendships and people he met over the years.
An avid gardener, both landscape and vegetable, Carl loved to be in the kitchen baking, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. His legacy will include the love and support he had for his family, as well as the caring and kindness he showed to others.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by all of his 16 siblings, including eight sisters, infant twins, Wanderine and Magdalene, Martha, Ruby, Glenda, Donna, Louise, Gayle; eight brothers, Earl, Bill, Charlie, Dorsey, Ed, Pilate, Willis, Steve; and a grandson, Enrique “Ricco” Fiffe in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lorieda (Fannin); two sons, Christopher Fiffe of California, Brian Fiffe of Fairborn; two granddaughters, Querida and Mireya Fiffe; a grandson, Ethan “Hunter” Fiffe; a great-grandson, Carter Ray Fiffe; special daughter-in-law, Sabrina Fiffe; traveling companions, Larry and Mary Huttsell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, church family, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday August 30, 2022 at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., Rev. Gary Easterling be officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Byron Cemetery. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
