USAF TSgt. (Ret.) R. John Frazier, age 87 of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday December 7, 2021 at the Wright-Patterson AFB Medical Center. He was born July 13, 1934 in Franklin, Ohio, the son of the late Scott and Esther (Mullenix) Frazier.
John served his country in the US Air Force during Korea and Vietnam, retiring at the rank of Technical Sergeant; and followed with employment as a deputy sheriff with the Greene County Sheriff’s Dept., retiring as a sergeant in 1995 after over a combined 44 years of law enforcement service to his country and community.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the camaraderie with his golfing group at Locust Hills. John’s other hobbies included bowling, as well as camping and four-wheeling with family in West Virginia.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Jr. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Norlene; two children, Debbie Shelton of Fairborn, John Alan Frazier of Fairborn; two grandchildren, Kelly Shelton, A.J. Shelton; five great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandsons.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday December 12, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. A private graveside service will be held by the family on Monday at Byron Cemetery.
