Usaf Smsgt. (Ret.) George E. "Buck" Buchhalter, Sr.

USAF SMSgt. (Ret.) George E. “Buck” Buchhalter, Sr., age 89 of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday May 9, 2023 at the OSU Medical Center.  He was born February 21, 1934 in Camden, NJ.

Buck served his country in the US Air Force as a KC-135 boom operator, retiring in 1971 at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant; and followed with employment in civil service, retiring after over 35 years of combined federal service.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey Stapleton; a sister; and a brother.  Survivors include two sons, George E. Buchhalter, Jr. and Mike (Kim) Buchhalter; six grandchildren; and a great grandson.

Services will take place on Thursday May 18, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  Beginning at 6:00 P.M. will be a VFW honors ceremony, followed by a Masonic service, and concluding with a memorial service officiated by family friend, Fred Domicone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairborn Senior Center.
