USAF MSgt. (Ret.) Alfred Borders, age 92, of Fairborn passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was born March 2, 1929 in Eccles, West Virginia; the son of the late Mary and Foster (Grant) Borders. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Andrew Borders, Foster Jr. Borders, Eugene Borders, Lenzie Borders, Kenneth Borders; sisters, Louise (Borders) Outlaw and Lela Mae (Borders) McLean; and son, Lorenzo Borders. Alfred is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Lilly (Brown) Borders; daughter, Brenda Jones; son, Michael Borders; grandsons, Marc Borders and Stephen Rogers; granddaughters, Nina Borders and Deidra Love; sisters, Katherine Penn and June Franklin; sister-in-laws, Roberta Borders, Marie Borders, and Mary Berger; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Alfred proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years as a computer technician, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. Alfred loved his family and friends immensely. In his free time, Alfred loved to fly planes in a flight simulator. He was a loving individual and he spread joy wherever he went. Alfred will be greatly missed by all as he touched the lives of his friends and family. A funeral service to honor Alfred will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 12 PM at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, OH, 45324. Friends and family may visit from 11 AM until the time of service. Military Honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service.
