Usaf Lt. Col. (Ret.) Terry L. Stoddart

USAF Lt. Col. (Ret.) Terry L. Stoddart of Fairborn passed away at the age of 77 on April 25, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born July 2, 1946 in Cortland, New York, the son of the late Rex and Madeline (Murphy) Stoddart. Terry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and was later commissioned as an officer. Retiring at the rank of Lt. Col. after 20 years of service, he spent several years working in the environmental science sector before retiring completely. A longtime member of Fairborn United Methodist Church, Terry enjoyed camping, RVing, and traveling with his wife, Teresa, all over the United States and overseas. He loved to learn about and explore new places, cultures, and cuisines. Whether by plane, train, or automobile, Terry was always up for an adventure. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Tim Stoddart. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Teresa; daughter, Shannon (Brian) Chaffee; two granddaughters, Ella and Lauren; brother, Tom Stoddart; and extended family and friends. A private service was held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairborn United Methodist Church or Fairborn FISH pantry.
