USAF CMSgt. (Ret.) Larry R. Hutson, Sr., age 70 of Fairborn passed away Wednesday September 11, 2024. He was born December 8, 1953 in Painesville, Ohio, the son of the late Roy and Beulah (Knight) Hutson. Larry was retired from the Air Force after 33 1/2 years of combined service between active duty and the Air Force Reserves at Youngstown Air Base. He was employed in Adult Education and Training at Rockwell Automation, then in civil service at WPAFB. One to not sit still, he volunteered at the Fairborn FISH and Schuster Center; and could be found at the Dayton Dragons games as an usher. Larry was an award winner of home craft beer, enjoyed golfing, gardening and was a world traveler with his wife by his side. He was well known as Santa during the holiday season. He has been best described as a man who never met a stranger, there were only friends he hadn't met yet. Larry was a devoted family man above all else. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Cleversy, Sylvia Turner; two brothers, Walter Hutson, and Ronnie Hutson. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda; three sons, Larry R. Hutson, Jr., Ken Hutson, Chris (Andrea) Hutson; grandson, Asher Hutson; sister, Evesteen (Rick) Bishop; three brothers, Luther (Peggy) Hutson, Don (Judy) Hutson, Clyde Hutson; much loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 21, 2024 at Yellow Springs United Methodist Church, 202 S. Winter St., Yellow Springs; Pastor Latoya Warren officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fairborn FISH or Sub-Zero Mission-Painesville, Ohio.
