Usaf Lt. Col. William T. "Bill" (Ret.) Bruns

USAF Lt. Col. (Ret.) William "Bill" Tracy Bruns, age 87, of Fairborn, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 22, 2018. He was born April 14, 1931 in Woodville, Ohio, the second son of the late Wayne and Frances (Lowry) Bruns. After graduating from the Ohio State University in 1953, Bill served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a career Air Force officer with tours worldwide including Vietnam and Korea. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a member and longtime volunteer of St. Peter Catholic Church. Bill was an avid fisherman and an accomplished poet—his love for poetry and the outdoors began at an early age while studying wildlife with his mother around the family cabin in northern Michigan. He continued to document his observations in nature and the world around him throughout his life. His dry sense of humor, annual Christmas poems, and complaints about the weather and politics will be greatly missed.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Rosemary; a brother, James Bruns; a granddaughter, Rachel Bruns. Bill is survived by three children, Thomas James (Angela Lynn) Bruns, Patricia Leigh Bruns, William McBeth (Kathleen) Bruns; three grandchildren, Meghan Whitney (Blair) Machado, Laura Katherine Bruns, Matthew William Bruns; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
