Thursa Ballard, age 88 of Fairborn, passed away on Monday January 8, 2018 at the Sycamore Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1929 in Ashers Fork, KY, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Creasie (Delph) Smith. Thursa was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairborn; and she was a dedicated homemaker and loved her family dearly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, L.P. Smith and Ford H. Smith. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bobby; two sons, Lloyd Ballard and wife Wanda Fayrene Hinkle-Ballard of Dayton, Roy Ballard of Huber Heights; three granddaughters, Virginia “Gini” Leigh Renee Lowery and husband Daniel, Courtney L. Ballard, Caitlin L. Ballard; and three great-grandchildren, Kristan, Brooks-Lynn, and Bryant. A funeral service will be held on Sunday January 14, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Dr. David A. Rakes officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Monday January 15, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Manchester Memorial Gardens in Manchester, KY.
