Thomas "Tom" F. Nurkiewicz

Thomas F. “Tom” Nurkiewicz, age 77, of Fairborn, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021. Tom was born on March 26, 1944 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania; the son of the late Thadeus and Nellie Nurkiewicz. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda Nurkiewicz; sister, Florence Druther; and brother-in-law, Francis Druther. Survivors include two children, Tim (Christina) Nurkiewicz of Memphis, TN and Karen (Bryan) Caldwell of Peachtree City, GA; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Madelyn, and Jessica Francis. Tom proudly served in the United States Navy and served on the USS Yorktown Naval Aircraft Carrier during his service. Tom was a member of the Fairborn Lyons Club and the First Baptist Church of Fairborn for many years. In his free time, he loved to spend time fishing and hunting as he was an avid outdoorsman. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Byron Cemetery, 3256 Trebein Rd, Fairborn, Ohio 45324. A graveside service with Navy Honors will follow at 12:30 PM with Steve Stiglich officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you pay it forward with an act of kindness in memory of Tom.
