Steven “Steve” W. Jahns, age 48 of Fairborn, passed away unexpectedly April 9, 2018. He was born October 2, 1969 in Moline, IL, the son of Wayne L. and Nancy J. (Dodd) Jahns. He received a Bachelor's Degree in History along with a Master's Degree in Public Administration and History from Wright State University. Steve has been employed as a police officer with the Fairborn Police Department for 23 years; and was a member of the FOP Lodge 48. He enjoyed reading, bike riding, traveling, history, pizza, coffee, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Wayne L. Jahns; grandparents, William (Margaret) Dodd, Dorothy (Allen) Jahns. He is survived by his mother, Nancy J. Jahns-Taylor (Carl); a son, Craig (Amanda) Jahns; a daughter, Molli Jahns; a grandson, Liam Jahns; a sister, Debbie Jahns; a nephew, Charlie Jahns; loving fiancée, Jennifer; lifelong friend, Scott Frus; his Fairborn Police family, especially Bill Titley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 14, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Fairborn High School auditorium, 900 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Meghan Howard and Pastor Chris Tannreuther officiating. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the service.
