Stephen Michael Wilcox, fondly known as "Steve," passed away on March 18, 2025. He was born on February 10, 1953, in New York, New York, the son of the late Charles John and Dolores E. (Mansell) Wilcox. 

Steve served his country in the U.S. Air Force and followed with a distinguished career with the U.S. Government in civil service at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as an IT Specialist, retiring after 42 years of combined federal service. His commitment to his work reflected his character—steadfast, honorable, and dependable.

Throughout his life, Steve was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and even scored a 300 game. He was also a longtime season ticket holder for Wright State basketball and cherished the moments spent watching his grandson play soccer. Steve also had a profound appreciation for music. He enjoyed playing the guitar and also found happiness in yard work, always maintaining his outdoor spaces meticulously. He and his family loved spending time in the swimming pool, making memories filled with laughter and fun.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Jackie; daughter, Chrissy (Tony) Riegel of Fairborn; son, Scott Wilcox also of Fairborn; grandchildren, Abby, Ethan, and Dylan; brothers, Chuck and Tom (Aurora); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael Wilcox; and sisters, Maureen Matherne and Mary Wilcox.

A memorial gathering will take place on March 29, 2025, at Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, located at 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, beginning at 3:30 PM. This will be followed by a memorial service at the same location, commencing at 5:00 PM., Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating with military honors being rendered at the conclusion. Inurnment will be on a family plot at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton. 

Steve's legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, his dedication to his family, and the countless memories created during his remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
