Stanley R. Pelfrey, age 60 of Fairborn, passed away Thursday February 20, 2020. He was born December 26, 1959 in West Liberty, Ky, the son of Stanley and Avanell (Gilliam) Pelfrey. Stan served his country in the US Army and was self-employed as the owner and operator of Eagle Steam Cleaning for 30 plus years. He enjoyed the outdoors as an avid bird hunter and motorcyclist; and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Stan attended Enterprise Baptist Church in Fairborn. Preceded in death by his father, Stanley Pelfrey; stepfather, Winfred Robbins; and his grandparents. Survivors include his mother, Avanell Robbins of Fairborn; sister, Lathella (Kevin) Gregory of Marysville, Oh; brother, Scott (Teresa) Pelfrey of Fairborn; fiancé, Cindy Genaw of Fairborn; best friends, Ray Fyffe and Jeff Risner; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family. The family will receive friends on Sunday February 23, 2020 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Monday February 24, 2020 at 9:00 A.M., Pastor Pat Morris officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton -or- your local animal shelter.
