Fairborn

Sharon L. Hoskins, a beacon of love and warmth, graced this world with her spirit from November 18, 1953, until she peacefully went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2025. Born in Dayton, Ohio, Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother—the kind who seemingly had a magical touch in nurturing the hearts of those around her. Her gentle hands and loving heart nurtured not just her own family, but also the bonds that brought warmth and light into their lives.

For fifty-four beautiful years, she shared her life with her beloved husband, Silas. Together, they created a tapestry of memories, weaving dreams into reality and blossoming under the glow of their unyielding devotion. Sharon was particularly proud of her role as a mother to her daughter, Tonya Hoskins and her son, Jonathan, and as an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren— Nancy LeeAnn Hoskins, Silas Jack Hoskins, Bailey Baker, and Abby Manning—who knew her as the best granny ever. Each laughter shared and hug exchanged echoed the love she instilled in their hearts.

Sharon's life was deeply rooted in her Pentecostal faith, guiding her steps with a sense of purpose and love. She lived her days enveloped in the embrace of her family, where her love blossomed most brightly. Her unwavering spirit and affection will forever resonate within the hearts of those privileged to have shared in her life—her legacy lives on through the warmth she spread.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Silas; her beloved daughter, Tonya; her cherished grandchildren; her sister, Karen Cansler; as well as a host of fond in-laws including Paul and wife Brenda Hoskins, Jack Carpenter, Patsy Hoskins, Viola Hoskins Sandlin, among others who loved her dearly.

Sharon is now reunited with her parents, Russell and Bernadine (Gray) Sortman, her son Jonathan, her stepfather Lee Harris, and many cherished in-laws Bill Cansler, Lonnie & Perlie Witt, Vernon & Mary Hoskins, Eldon & Rosetta Hoskins, Carl & Carolyn Hacker, Eugene & Irene Collett, Robert & Celdren Stone, Evelyn Carpenter, John & Delora Bowling, Clarence Hoskins, Cleamon Hoskins, Farmer Hoskins and friends who welcomed her with open arms. Those who have passed before her now share in the miracle of her presence—a sacred reunion that brings solace to those she left behind.

Her journey of love will be honored in visitation on Friday January 24, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home located at 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH, 45324, Rev. Jack Carpenter, Jason Hoskins, and Phillip Douglas Hoskins officiating.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House..

Though Sharon may have left this earthly realm, her spirit, her laughter, and the gift of her love will remain eternal in the hearts of those she cherished and who cherished her.
