Sandra “Sandy” Carsner, age 74 of Fairborn, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Sandy was born February 22, 1949, in Dayton, the daughter of the late Archie and Florence (Ball) Neil.
She was a devoted wife, mother, exceptional grandmother, and friend to many. Her life was enriched by the love she shared with her family, often saying that they were “number one”. Her hobbies included puzzles, board games, and cooking. After 50 years of preparing three wonderful meals each day, she retired. However, the amount of love she carried for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren allowed for some exceptions in the kitchen. Sadly, Sandy’s homecooked meals will be greatly missed; especially, by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, Sandy cherished fresh flowers, seasonal varieties, and the rose bouquets her late husband would surprise her with.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her dear husband, Kenneth Carsner; and brothers, Mark Neil, Johnny Neil. She is survived by two children, Lisa Emanoff, Donald Carsner; five grandchildren, Miranda Emanoff, Chase Carsner, Kyle Carsner (Tianna), D.J. Carsner, Kaitlyn Warner; four great-grandchildren, Atalee, Kensley, Waylon, Tessa; sister, Diona (Donnie) Whitt; son-in-law, Wesley Emanoff; as well as extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
