Samuel Herbert Lemaster

Samuel Herbert Lemaster age 68, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Kettering Medical Center. He was born April 21, 1956, in Kettering, OH, the son of the late Herbert Jr. and Tennie “Carolyn” (Wilson) Lemaster.

Sam was a devoted husband, father, papaw, and friend. He dedicated his career to the retail industry, ultimately serving as a retail manager at Meijer (Store 102—Kettering) for over 20 years before retiring in 2010. After receiving a heart transplant in 2012, he lived every day to its fullest walking several miles a day, often stopping along the way to visit with his pastor and volunteering several days a week at Soin Medical Center.  He was devoted to his faith as a proud Southern Baptist Christian. His greatest joy was the time he and his wife spent with their grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and reading, particularly, detective/crime novels. To know Sam was to love him. He leaves a lasting legacy of love and cherished memories that will be treasured always.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his dear wife and soulmate of 46 years, Diane Marie (Winhoven) Lemaster; two children, Jennifer (Edward) Federle; John (Wendy Richison) Lemaster; three grandchildren, Andrew Bergman, Katherine “Katie” Bergman, Ella Bergman; siblings, Robert (Vicki) Lemaster, Joyie (Scott) Johns, many nieces, nephews, aunts, extended family, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs, Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324. Where a funeral service will be held at 9:30 A.M., Saturday, December 7, 2024, Pastor John Heading officiating. Burial to follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
