Ruth Ann Howard

Ruth Ann Howard, age 64, of Fairborn, passed away December 6, 2022 at Soin Medical Center following an eight month battle with lung cancer. She was born July 29, 1958 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Harold Howard Sr. and Billie Jean (Moore) Longstreth. Ruth was a Class of '76 Baker Flyer but graduated a year early. She moved to Florida with her high school sweetheart. They came home to Fairborn to get married among their family and friends 44 years ago, then returned. She was a devoted mother to her two boys. They moved back to Fairborn in 1990 to raise them. She loved supporting her boys and their peers at little league, high school marching band, and high school baseball. She retired from RCF Information after 20 years of service.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Denise Longstreth.  She is survived by her husband, Larry D. Howard; two sons, Adam (Cassie) Howard, Noah Howard; six grandchildren, Alorah Rose, Penn, Tate, Ocean Rain, Pace, Cruz; sister, Deborah Longstreth; brother, Harold Howard Longstreth Jr.; as well as extended family and close friends. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Dayton in Ruth’s name.
