Ruth Ann Gayheart, age 85 of Fairborn, passed away Friday March 17, 2023 at the Hospice of Dayton. She was born on July 21, 1937 in Hillsboro, Ohio and has been a Fairborn, Ohio resident for over 60 years. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold; parents Gerald and Florence Ludwick; brother, Gene Ludwick; grandson, Brandon; and granddaughter, Rachel.
Ruth married the love of her life, Harold Gayheart, on February 17, 1955 and they raised four children together, Doug (Carol) Gayheart, Greg (Kim) Gayheart, Sue (Larry) Hayes, and Sonia (Tod) Ford. She had 7 grandchildren she loved dearly, Brandon, Rachel, Ashley, Allison, Christopher, Jennifer and Serena along with 5 great grandchildren.
Ruth met her beloved husband while attending East Dayton Christian Church over 65 years ago and they both attended and served there during all those years together. They formed many lifelong friendships, and she was lovingly known as Ruthie to many. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching PGA golf on tv (especially her favorite Tiger Woods), playing piano, card games and working puzzles. She was a loving and caring Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 22, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday March 23, 2023 at 10:00 A.M., Pastor Kyle Gulley officiating. A private burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton under Ruth’s name.
