Ronald Joseph Smart

Ronald Joseph Smart, age 74 of Fairborn passed away Tuesday November 28, 2023.  He was born January 25, 1949 in Jamestown, Ohio, the son of the late Darius S. and Nettie I. Harlow) Smart.  He served his country in the U.S. Air Force National Guard and followed with employment as a firefighter with the City of Dayton, retiring after 29 years of combined service.  Joe was a past trustee of the Amvets Post 444, Fairborn.  He enjoyed antique cars, spending time with friends and going on cruises with family.  He was friendly to everyone and easy to talk too.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.  Joe is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Marsha; brother, Sonny Smart; sister, Wanda (Huck) Miller; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends.  A funeral service will be held on Friday December 1, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
