Ronald A. Lester

Ronald A. Lester, age 81 of Springfield passed away Sunday December 11, 2022.  He was born June 5, 1941 in Grundy, Virginia, the son of the late Zed and Elsie (Carlton) Lester.  Ron had a passion for flying, owning a few Bonanza V-Tails throughout the years.  He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by twin sisters, Mae and Faye; brothers, James, Charles, Roger, Robert “Tuty”; and sister, Sharon Lester.  He is survived by his wife, Maxine; three children, Sheri (Don) McMurray, Kathaleen “Kathy” (Dwayne) Reeves, Ron “Bodie” (Kassie) Lester; eleven grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; brother, Will (Debbie) Lester; sisters, Christine (Gary) Armey; Margaret (Vince) Laurents; as well as extended family.  The family would like to thank Kess Harris, who was like a brother to Ron, and will always mean so much to the family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday December 17, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Todd Edwards officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Ron.
