Roger W. Gearhart

Roger W. Gearhart, age 74 of Fairborn, passed away Sunday July 17, 2022 at the Hospice of Dayton.  He was born April 15, 1948 in Dayton, the son of the late Byron and Kathryn (Zurface) Gearhart.

Roger graduated from Jacksonville-Farmersville High School on May 28, 1966 and went on to attend the Ohio State University.  While in his youth he had also attended Dixie High School.  He served his country in the US Army; and was employed with General Motors (GM), Inland (Delco Chassis), retiring in 1997 after 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Linda I. Gearhart; two children, Melissa and Brian Gearhart; a brother, Kenneth Donohoo; step-son and wife, Aaron and Shellie Beneke; and five grandchildren, Austin Beneke, Lauryn Beneke, Brandon Fannin, Lexi Fannin, and Gabe Fannin.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St., Dayton, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
