Robert “Bob” Paul Collins, age 80 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by family. Bob was born January 8, 1944, in Rose Hill, Virginia, the son of the late Paul Cleveland and Joy (Ingle) Collins.
He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1962. Shortly after, he was drafted into the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. There he proudly served as a mechanic and was stationed in Hawaii at Hickam Air Force Base. After his military service he met the love of his life, Jo Ann and they were married, July 12, 1969. Family was everything to Bob especially, the time he spent with his grandchildren. A life member of the South Fairborn Baptist Church, the NRA, Greene County Fish and Game, Harley Owners Group (HOG), friend of the Honor Flight, Fairborn Flying RC Club, CB-Radio, a member of Fairborn Senior Center, Fairborn military veterans memorial project, to name a few. Lastly, Bob performed charity work with the Gold Wing Riders for over 35 years; around the Christmas season feeding needy seniors. To those who knew and loved Bob he will be missed, greatly.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Collins. Bob is survived by his dear wife, Jo Ann (Shepherd) Collins; son Tim wife Jenna, two grandchildren, Taylor (Princess), Spencer (Hotrod.) beloved pet, Buddy; we wish to thank our extended special family friends I call my squad Betty, David, Marcia, Gary, Licorice, Terri, Terry, Sharon, Paul, Joy, Barb, Dale, Linda, Becky, Lloyd, Ryan and his biker family. They have loved and supported us through the years faithfully.
