Robert (Bob) Hoerner Jr., 71 of Fairborn passed away Feb 11th at Hospice of Dayton after an extended illness. He was born on August 16, 1953, in Springfield, Ohio. Before he retired, he worked for several trucking companies and Greene Cats.
Bob was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals. He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his quiet, gentle spirit who seldom got angry. He was “laid back” and took life as it came. He had a quick dry wit, loved to tease, and could always make you laugh or smile no matter what the situation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Hoerner Sr; Mother Janet Lewis and stepmother Vivian Hoerner.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Kathy of Fairborn; son Shane (Jessica) of Fairborn; grandchildren Izzy, Sheila, Rachel, Mason and Emily of Fairborn; Daughters Janet Hoerner, Betty Bartlett, and Patricia Hanes of Dayton. He is also survived by his sister Christine (Steve) of Fairborn; sister in law Saundy (Larry) Eastridge of West Milton; nephews Steve Holmes Jr, Bryan (Amanda) Holmes of Fairborn; cousins Tobin (Amy) Hoerner and Adela (William) Dickey of Indiana; and a special friend “ like a brother” Mike Collins of Fairborn.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be made at the Hospice of Dayton or to a charity of choice.
