Robert D. Curd, age 85, of Fairborn, went to be with the Lord March 14, 2021. He was born June 10, 1935 in Troy, Kentucky; the son of the late Turley and Flora Curd. Along with his parents, Robert is proceeded in death by his son, Kenneth Curd. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (Fitch) Curd; son, Rodney (Julie) Curd; grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Allen, Jeremy Curd, Stephen (Monica) Curd, and Eric (April) Curd; great-grandchildren, Carter Allen, Jason Curd, Jaxon Curd, Noah Curd, Brooke Curd, and Markus Curd; and many extended family members. Robert worked at Defense Electronic Supply Center (DESC) and retired after 38 years of service as a member of the Quality Control Team. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairborn for approximately 63 years, and he drove the church bus for 30 years. Robert never met a stranger and was hospitable to everyone he met. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with anything that had a motor and fix anything he could get his hands on, and he was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. What Robert loved most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 1 PM at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, OH 45324 with Steve Stiglich officiating. Family and friends may visit from 12 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of Robert.
