Richard "Rick" Eckert

Richard (Rick) E. Eckert of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away September 1, 2024 in his home. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Joan (Brown) Eckert; brother, Charles Eckert; wife, Marlene (Morris) Eckert; two sons, Christopher and Richard "Ricky" Eckert. He leaves behind his sons, Robert Eckert, Clifton Eckert, and Beau Eckert; daughter, Marla Eckert; 16 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Richard was a canoneer for the military while stationed in Germany, where he became "pen-pals" with his soon-to-become wife, Marlene. Richard loved to read books, specifically the works by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. He loved spending his free time watching Law & Order, NCIS, Wrestling, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Richard was loved by many, and had made several great friends over his lifetime. He always shared stories of his past with his kids, and passed down his love for sarcasm. Richard will be missed as deeply as he was loved, and never forgotten as the intelligent, sarcastic, funny, man he was known for being.
