Rev. Gordon "Ed" E. Kilburn

Rev. Gordon E. “Ed”  Kilburn, age 90 of Fairborn, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 16th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.  Gordon was born on the 14th of September, 1932 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late William and Lizzie (Lawson) Kilburn.

He spent the earlier part of his life in Kentucky until moving to Ohio.  He was employed with General Motors, retiring after 33 years of service; and followed with employment at Esther Price Candies for 22 seasons.

Gordon was a devoted Pastor and loved spreading Gods word to anyone he could no matter where he was. He was a Pastor at the International Faith Church in Fairborn, Ohio for 34 years and was the pastor of a church in Columbus for six years. He held tent revivals in Muncie, Indiana for 16 years and evangelized in different churches and held many revivals over the years. He had a gospel radio broadcast on WBZI that he did for many years as well.

Throughout his life, he made several trips to Haiti to spread Gods word and while there helped many souls find God and give their hearts to the Lord. He baptized many people while there and also helped build a church there in the 1970’s.

Gordon loved talking to people, he loved talking about God, he loved sitting out on the porch with his loving wife and talking and visiting with family, neighbors and friends. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years, camping with his wife and family and friends, going on trips and going out to eat and just fellowshipping with loved ones.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth R. Kilburn;  and his thirteen siblings, brothers Willie, Luke, Tommy, W.H, Charlie, sisters Buela, Betty, Eula, Della Mae, Dorothy, Goldie, Shirley and Sophia.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Darlene; their children Connie (Roger) Brown, Darlinda (Kenny) Brown, Lisa (Tadd) Doty, Tim Brewer, Terry (Michelle) Schubert. His grandchildren, Mandy (Allen) Hollon, Bryon (Marnie) Stacy, Brandon (Brittany) Stacy, Brad Stacy, Jess (Matt) Darby, Kristen (Wyatt) Lawhorn, David Doty, Kimberly Doty, Ryan Brewer, Kaitlin Brewer, ten great grandchildren who he loved dearly, Morgan, Eli, Bella, Zoey, Addi, Harper, Sammy, Maddox, Issac, and Branch; and several special friends and his church family.

Gordon had a special saying that he said at the end of every church service and throughout life to people. “If you will go with God, God will go with you, faith works and Jesus will never, ever, ever fail you.”

The family will receive friends on Thursday February 23rd from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Friday February 24th at 11:00 A.M., Brother Elzie Moore and Brother RJ Oliver officiating.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
