Rella L. Whitt

Rella L. Whitt, age 94 of Fairborn, passed away Friday December 18, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born January 1, 1926 in Morgan County, KY, the daughter of the late John Wade and Bessie Lou (Haney) Davis.  Rella was employed at Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring in 1988 after 22 years of service.  She attended the Church of God.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Whitt in 1983; four sisters, Jewel Davis, Lois Mae Morland, Helen L. Clevenger, Betty Adams; and a brother, Drexel Davis.  Survivors include two sons, Herschel (Kathee) Whitt of Troy, Donnie (Diona) Whitt of Fairborn; a daughter, Sandra (Mike) Lyons of Fairborn; two sisters, Jean Patrick of Wrigley, KY, Charlene (Don) Wattern of Kettering; 5 grandchildren, Cindy, Rodney, Michele (Clay), Kevin (Corie), Jamie (Brian); one step granddaughter, Rachel (Nick); one step grandson, William; nine great-grandchildren;  four great great grandsons; sister-in-law, Leavinadale Whitt;  as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Garry Ferguson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
