Raymond E. Liebherr, Jr., age 81 of Fairborn passed away Sunday December 6, 2020. He was born November 17, 1939 in Dayton, the son of Raymond Sr. and Maryalice (Jones) Liebherr. Ray was started his career with the Fairborn Police Department in 1969 and retired as Chief of Police in 2001. He became the first recipient of the Knight of Columbus Blue Coat Award. He was a member of the Fairborn Senior Center; as enjoyed weight lifting, woodworking, and golfing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann Liebherr; brother, George Liebherr; and two sisters, Marilyn Erby, Mary Ann Tabor. Ray is survived by two sons, Raymond III (Michele) Liebherr, James Liebherr; daughter, Robin Sue (James) Beatty; six grandchildren, Robert Liebherr, Raymond Liebherr IV, Matthew (Jessica) Smith, William (Megan) Liebherr, Josh Bardford, Krisha (Mark Jr.) Swope; seven great-grandchildren, Ayanna, Jayce, Colton, Avery, Braxton, Cambrie, Landon; as well as extended family. A funeral service will be held on Monday December 14, 2020 at 1:00 P.M., Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial with police honors will follow at the Byron Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairborn Senior Center.
