Ralph S. Goecke, age 86 of Fairborn, passed away Sunday December 17, 2017 at Elmcroft of Fairborn. He was born March 24, 1931 in Dayton, the son of the late Julian and Julia (Schweiterman) Goecke. Ralph was a member of Mary, Help of Christians Parish in Fairborn; and a proud member of the Wilbur Wright High School Athletic Hall of Fame, as a participant on two championship golf teams. He was employed as a machinist at Delco Products, retiring in 1994. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Irene in 2014; and he was the last of ten kids in his family. Survivors include three children, Raymond (Mary) Goecke of Kettering, Tim (Jane) Goecke of Cincinnati, Julia Karnehm of Troy; eight grandchildren, Tee, Ryan (Kaelyn), Crystal, Elijah, Seth, Carly, Stephanie (Michael), Tabitha; a great grandson, Dresden; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 954 N. Maple Ave., Fairborn, Father Thomas A. Nevels Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass at the church. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
