Rachel J. Hall, age 83 of Fairborn, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday February 9, 2024. She was born May 31, 1940 in Pedro, Ohio, the daughter of the late Donald and Erma (Barnett) Davis.
Before retirement, Rachel was a school bus driver for Fairborn City Schools. She was a longtime ambassador for the Fairborn Chamber of Commerce, receiving ambassador of the year for her service to the community. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and water sports. Rachel would be seen singing and dancing, just living life to the fullest and having a good time. Rachel loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donnie Reynolds; and husband, Shelby; two step-sons, Mark Hall; Paul Barrett; brother, Jerry Davis; and grandson, Michael Lauer.
Rachel is survived by four children, Robin Slone, Tammy (Dave) Schiller, Tere Lauer, Kevin Reynolds; four step-children, Dennis Hall, Shellie (Kevin) Doyle, Chris (Rhonda) Barrett; Scott (Ann) Barrett; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Meredith) Davis; friend and caretaker, Debbie Allen; best friend of over 60 years, Kay Duvall; beloved dogs, Cocoa and Bella; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday February 13, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral will be held on Wednesday February 14, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center -or- Alzheimer’s Association.
