Peggy J. Weddington

Peggy J. Weddington, age 82 of Fairborn, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Soin Medical Center.  She was born March 11, 1936 in Logan, WV, the daughter of the late Estill and Mary (Steele) Spencer.  Peggy was a member of Freedom Church.  She was the strength of her family: a mother, sister, teacher, mentor, crafter, and friend, but her favorite role was Grandma. She had a strong faith that carried her throughout her lifetime, and has left a legacy of love for both God and family, which her loved ones will carry with them forever.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kendall “Herb” in 2001; a sister, Rosie Short; two brothers, Sonny Spencer and Wendell Spencer; and a son-in-law, Greg Wheeler.  She is survived by three daughters, Pam Wheeler, Robin Weddington (Steve Turner), April (Frank) Stewart, all of Fairborn; seven grandchildren, Jason Wheeler, Andrea (Jeremy) Ferguson, Rob (Brooke) Lemaster, Gary Anderson, Tara Anderson (Chris Siders), Josh (Amberlin) Stewart, Shelby Stewart; eight great-grandchildren, Haley, Kinsley, Tate, Coleman, Madalyn, Adelaide, Isaiah, Geneva; two brothers, Billy (Carol) Spencer of Fairborn, Frank (Joan) Spencer of KY; and a sister, JoAnn (Bob) Gillum of Fairborn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.  The family will receive friends on Thursday March 29, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Friday March 30, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Dwayne Bryan officiating.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
