Pearl E. "Ed" Sewell, Jr.

Pearl E. “Ed” Sewell, Jr., age 65 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday January 3, 2024.  He was born May 10, 1958 in Xenia, the son of Pearl “Ed”, Sr. and Marleah (Moats) Sewell.

Ed was a 1976 graduate of Fairborn Baker High School and had attended Sinclair Community College where he received training and instruction in CNC technology.  He was retired from Venture Manufacturing Co. in Dayton where he had been employed as a tool and machine builder and CNC programmer.

In his spare time he was an avid dart player, participating in area leagues with the Dayton Darting Association; and previously had enjoyed bowling locally and had bowled a 300 game.  He was a longtime Cleveland Browns fan, enjoyed cooking, and was the family handyman.

Preceded in death by his father; and his grandparents, George and Anne Moats, and Earl and Kathryn Sewell.  Survivors include his mother Marleah of Fairborn; life partner, Susan Thompson; two sons, Joshua (Tonya) Sewell, Christopher (Monica) Sewell, and their mother, Sandy Sullenbarger; four grandchildren, Alexander, Dagan, Juell, Taylin; Susan’s son, Jeff (Amanda) Thompson and their daughter Kennedy; Susan’s daughter, Jenna (Nick) Coltrane and her children Nolan and Nash; siblings, Tawnette (Don) Baker,  Tammy (Kent) Anderson, Eric (Julie) Sewell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday January 8, 2024 from 4:30 until 6:30 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  He will be laid to rest next to family at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens on Tuesday.
