Pastor H. Allen Gross, age 82 of Miamisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday August 31, 2018. He was born November 24, 1935 in Lillybrook, WV, the son of the late William Ernest and Elva Mae (Hurley) Gross. Allen was a 1954 graduate of Fairborn High School and attended college in Minot, ND. He then served as an evangelist and pastored many churches around the country before returning to the local area 22 years ago. Pastor Gross retired as a lead pastor of Xenia Church of God in 2005. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Phillip A. Gross; three brothers, Frank, Lonnie, Edgel; and three sisters, Cleo Brewer, Leatha Beasley, and Bonnie Stevens. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine; a son, Stephen A. Gross; daughter-in-law, Pamela Gross; granddaughter, Ashley (Corey) McKenney; grandson, Zachary (Kristie) Gross; a sister, Judy Webb; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 6, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Liberty Worship Center, 1180 Upper Bellbrook Rd., Xenia, where a funeral service will be held on Friday September 7, 2018 at 10:30 A.M., Pastor Todd Martin, Bishop Ron Martin, and Pastor Barry Clardy officiating. Burial will follow at the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn.
