Nadya Arelis Centeno

Nadya Arelis Centeno, age 33 of Fairborn, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at Soin Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 12, 1990, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Hector H. Centeno and Vivian J. (Montalvo) Centeno.

Nadya was a daughter, mother, fiancée, sister, and friend to many. In life Nadya was a truly great, old soul in this new world. She would give the shirt off her back and have a conversation with anyone. She enjoyed singing and dancing her heart out! She also enjoyed reading and collecting marvel and DC comic memorabilia, especially, the Batman, Spiderman, and Hulk series. Nadya also enjoyed geology, collecting rocks with her family, while out enjoying nature. She loved the outdoors and was naturally drawn to water everywhere she went. In addition, she enjoyed and dedicated herself and her life to taking care of and raising her young family. Nadya will be missed greatly by her family, close friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Sonia (Ortiz) Montalvo ; her unborn child Bentley Hicks; and beloved pet, Harley Francis. In addition to her parents Nadya is survived by her three beautiful children, Isabella L. Hicks; Aydan J. Hicks; Adriel A. Hicks; fiancé of 15 years, James “Jimmy” Hicks; siblings, Hector E. (Cassidy) Centeno; Karla I. (James Kaznowski) Centeno; grandparents, Luis E. Montalvo; aunt, Letty Nieves; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, 45324.
