Mildred T. (Prestel) Vangundy

Mildred T. (Prestel) VanGundy, age 91 of Fairborn passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 7, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born December 23, 1932, in Bath Township, Greene County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward Leo and Minnie Margaret (Blum) Prestel.

Mildred was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Mildred found great pride in her children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, solving puzzles in the local print newspaper, and rooting for the Cincinnati Reds.

In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her dear husband of 62 years, Ralph Leroy VanGundy; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Koogler; and brother, Jack Prestel. She is survived by her two daughters, Diane (David) Johnson, Shirley (Rick) Hobson; grandchildren, Amber (Joseph) Hancock, Zachary Johnson, Richard (Stacy) Hobson; great-granddaughter, Reese Hobson; brother, Richard Prestel; extended family and close friends.

Mildred will be laid to rest next to her late husband at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle.
