Mickey Thompson, age 84 of Fairborn, passed away Thursday September 13, 2018 at the Hospice of Dayton. She was born May 1, 1934 in Hodgenville, KY, the daughter of the late Edward and Mattie (Loyall) DeSpain. Mickey was employed as a supervisor at Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring in 2000 after 32 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Leonard, Bill, Orval; and five sisters, Margaree Taylor, Luceda Flanders, Juanita Davis, Beulah Polley, and Clara Mather. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harold; three sons, Steve Thompson of Arizona, Mike Thompson of Fairborn, Tim Thompson of Kettering; six grandchildren, Mark Thompson, Jessica (Mack) Brown, Brittany Thompson, Alicia Thompson, Amber (Travis) Kimbrell, Adam (Brittany) Thompson; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Dot (Chico) Nunn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. The family will receive friends on Saturday September 15, 2018 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Sunday September 16, 2018 at 9:30 A.M., Dana DeSpain officiating. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
