Michael D. Ward

Michael D. Ward, age 68, of Fairborn, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was born April 6, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Daniel Jr. and Beatrice (Spradlin) Ward.

Mike was a genuine character. In addition to being a proud father, grandfather, and husband, he was also honest, hardworking, and enjoyed his steak dinners. Mike cherished spending his time with his family. He treasured fishing trips with his grandkids, golfing with his friends, attending car shows all over the state, and most of all rooting on the Cleveland Browns football team.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Phillip Ward. Mike is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy (Perry) Ward; son, Ryan (Angela) Ward; daughter, Amy Ward; grandchildren, Avery Hayles; Madison Hayles (Robyn Koehler); Chloee (Dylan) Pope; Gavin Ward; Abigail Ward; great-grandchildren, Everly Koehler; Ivory Pope; brother, Gary (Linda Sue) Ward; devoted family friends, Brian Daniels; Leslie Tinkle; James (Angel) Wellman; as well as many other extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service, Michael Benson officiating. As a tribute to Mike’s favorite football team, The Cleveland Browns; the family is inviting you all to wear any Cleveland Browns football apparel, you may have.
