Michael Joseph Buchhalter

Michael J. Buchhalter, age 64 of Beavercreek passed away, April 4, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born June 7, 1959 on Johnson Air Force Base, Irumagawa, Japan to the late George E. Buchhalter Sr. and Edna D. (Brown) Buchhalter.

Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son. He was employed at Montgomery County engineering for the last 20 years. Mike was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop#27 in New Carlisle where he was known to many. He also enjoyed the outdoors but specifically, boating, hunting and fishing with his family. Lastly, Mike looked forward to every trip to the lake house he proudly built in Tennessee where he loved to spend time with his dear wife, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Staples. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kimberly “Kim” (Armstrong) Buchhalter; children, Kyle (Robin) Buchhalter, Lisa (Jeremy) Slattery, Scott Buchhalter (Ally Bartels); grandchildren, Branson, Wilson, Barrett “Bear”, Bryden; brother, George Buchhalter Jr.; extended family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 5:00 P.M., to 7:00 P.M., at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324. Per Mike’s request, all those in attendance should feel obliged to dress informally. Additionally, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VFW Post 9966 in memory of Mike Buchhalter (Troop#27) 10750 Musselman Rd., New Carlisle, OH 45344.
