Melba Pine

Melba Pine, age 92 of Fairborn passed away Wednesday October 16, 2024 with loving family by her side.  She was born November 8, 1931 in Magnolia, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Harmon and Annie (Roe) Flowers.  Melba was a longtime member of the Byron Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Together with her husband, Harold, they enjoyed in square dancing and bowling.  She liked cooking, playing cards, and word puzzles.  Her garden was a joy for her along with flowers, especially roses.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, USAF CMSgt. (Ret.) Harold L. Pine; brother, Dr. John W. Flowers; and sister, Donnis Mae Kahl.  She is survived by two sons, Shelby (Linda) Pine of Maryland, Dr. Steven Pine of Fairborn; special friend, Diana Lee of Enon; as well as extended family and friends.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 23, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Byron Church, 3230 Trebein Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice 360; Alzheimer’s Association, or you may plant a tree in memory of Melba.
