Mary Lou Lewis

Mary Lou Lewis, age 87, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023.  She was born in Sandy Hook, KY on December 22, 1935.  She was daughter to the late Charlie Wilbur and Jewel (Adkins) Cassity, Sr.

Mary grew up in Elliott County, KY.  She moved to Ohio in 1952.  She & Bob were married in Richmond, IN in 1956.

She worked as a waitress, seamstress, auction clerk, liked working in antiques, and she & Bob had an antique business for over 50 years.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, puzzle books, spending time with family and friends, and she will be truly missed.  She attended Middle-Urbana Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, OH.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son Robert Michael Lewis, brothers Charles Cassity, Jr., Ollie Eugene Cassity, and sister Madge (Cassity) Fraley.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert (Bob) E. Lewis; daughter Vickie Lewis Mason of Florence, KY, son & daughter-in-law Roger & Teresa Lewis of Xenia, OH, granddaughter & husband Steffanie & Eddie Bowen of Martinsville, OH, granddaughter Kristinna Mason of Murfreesboro, TN, great-granddaughter Madelynne Mason of Martinsville, OH, brother and sister-in-law Ernest Ray & Eula Cassity of Fairborn, as well as extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home in Fairborn, OH with burial to follow at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn, OH with Pastor Bobby Mills. officiating.  If so desired, donations can be made to Day City Hospice in Dayton, OH or Middle-Urbana Missionary Baptist in Springfield, OH.
