Marvin D. “Chris” Christopher, age 89, of Fairborn and Marco Island, Florida, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021. He was born August 5, 1931 in Preble County, Ohio; the son of the late Homer and Lou Alma “Granny” (Snowden) Christopher. Along with his parents, Chris is preceded in death by his brother, Homer Lee Christopher. Chris is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Shirley; son, Steve (Elie) Christopher; daughter, Karen (Jose) Ganel; grandchildren, Chelsea, Colin, Elias Christopher, and Katherine Ganel; sisters, Donna Dearth and Sue Rowe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He proudly served in the United State’s Air Force and retired at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Chris was a member of the Fairborn United Methodist Church for 65 years. In his free time, he loved to play golf and ride his bike. Chris was an all-around handyman and had many projects he completed throughout his lifetime. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 6 at 2 PM at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, OH 45324. Family and friends may visit from 1 PM until the time of service. Chris will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery where U.S. Air Force Honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity in memory of Chris.
