Mae Engle

Mae Engle, age 93 of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday October 24, 2018.  She was born September 9, 1925 in Perry Co., Kentucky, the daughter of the late Harrison and Betty (Begley) Bowling.  Mae worked at The Barney Children’s Medical Center and The Villa as an LPN, retiring after 30 years of service.  Her hobbies included bowling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Sargent Engle, Jr.; nine sisters; one brother; and son-in-law, Spiros Makrides; great-granddaughter, Aryiana Engle.  She is survived by seven children, John (Marilou) Engle, Walt (Gloria) Engle, Elaine (Ray) Barnett, Sandy (Terry) Lee, Irene Makrides, Billy Joe Engle, Mary Beth Engle (Frank Slader); daughter-in-law, Lily Moser; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.  A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday October 26, 2018 from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  A funeral service will be held at 7:30 P.M. with Pastor Stuart Snow officiating.  Burial will be at the Harrison Bowling Cemetery in Buckhorn, Kentucky.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
