Lonnie Edward “Butch” Yeary, age 72 of Fairborn, passed away on Sunday June 24, 2018. He was born September 10, 1945 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Lonnie and Emmalou (Brand) Yeary. Lonnie served his country in the US Air Force Reserve and was employed at General Motors, retiring in 1997. He volunteered for many years as a Fairborn Little League coach and also coached baseball for Fairborn High School along with many traveling teams. Lonnie was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathy; three children, Teresa (Scott) Pelfrey, Jim (Debbi) Yeary, Tommy (Cassie) Yeary; eight grandchildren, Erin, Kelly and Adam Pelfrey, Reagan, Reece, and Mason Yeary, Andrew Yeary, Sarah Mann; three sisters, Kathy Dean, Clara Cowdrey, Ginny Yeary; a brother, Mike Yeary; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Sunday July 29, 2018 starting at 2 PM at Kathy and Lonnie’s home in Fairborn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairborn Little League -or- Hospice of Dayton. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn.
