Lon M. Morgan, age 80, of Fairborn, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family Thursday, October 8, 2021. He was born May 1, 1941 in Caryville, Tennessee; the son of the late, Robert and Louise (Pebley) Morgan. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Oddlee, James “Brown Cow,” and Bob Jack; and sisters, Grace Sampsel and Lauretta Broyles. Lon is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Linda (Woods) Morgan; daughters, Theresa (Mark) Umbdenstock and Cindy Morgan; grandchildren, Kayleigh (Drew) Hull, Nicholas (Sarah) Umbdenstock, Bradley (Anne) Fogle, Jonnie (Amanda) Fogle, Blaire Fogle, Madison Fogle, Wade Brees, and Lucy Brees; great-grandchildren, Mallory, Brantley, Liam, Holden, Aiden, Lulu, and CJ; brother, Bill Morgan; sisters, Pauline Bruner and Helen Allen; his dogs, Suzy and Bubba; and numerous extended family members and friends. Lon proudly served in the United States Army and retired from Chrysler after many years. Lon would always go out of his way for everyone he knew and he never met a stranger. Lon was also a family man who cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 14 from 6 to 8 PM at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd, Fairborn, OH 45324. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 15 at 11 AM with Pastor Damon Reid officiating at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home. Lon will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the American Cancer Society in memory of Lon.
