Lois D. Black, age 88 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday May 23, 2020. She was born December 1, 1931 in Yellow Springs, the daughter of the late Arthur and Doris (Coffman) Demmy. Lois was a supportive wife during her husband’s military career; and she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She always took care of her family and was kind to all and attended the Byron Church when she was able. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, USMC (Ret.) Ralph E. Black in 2016; a daughter, Lynn Wilcox in 2015; as well as several siblings. Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Nissen of Louisiana; grandchildren, Emily (Bryan) Leary, Clint (Marilyn) Helfinstine, Laura (Todd) Maggio; great-grandchildren, Jordan Helfinstine, Israel Johnson, Paige Helfinstine; her beloved dog, Bucky; as well as other extended family. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 27, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Byron Cemetery, 3256 Trebein Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn.
