Leroy Howard, age 82 of Xenia passed away November 23, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born March 13, 1939, the son of the late Bernice and Bernice (Whitt) Howard. Leroy was a union steward for General Motors, retiring after 33 years of service. He was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge #49. He adored coaching his kids’ teams in Xenia, and continued for many years after. Leroy always made sure to attend sporting events for his children and grandchildren, rarely missing a game. He enjoyed his Corvette, car racing, golfing, and spending time with family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Howard, Talmage Howard; and brother-in-law, Odell Rowe. Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Drema; two children, Kevin (Lisa) Howard, Kelli(Chris) Veidt; three grandchildren, Jacob Howard, Madison Howard, Olivia Veidt; two sisters, JoAnn Rowe, Phyllis Gaye Howard; brother, Barry (Linda) Howard; as well as extended family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 27, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Harold Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery.
