Leona A. Henrich

Leona A. Henrich, age 55 of Fairborn, passed away January 1, 2023 at the Vitas Inpatient Unit at Drake in Cincinnati.  She was born July 23, 1967 in Macomb Co., Michigan, the daughter of Thomas Leszczynski and Florence Burns.

Leona was a devoted Air Force wife, supporting her husband’s 22-year career; and a proud Army mom to both of her children and son-in-law.  She studied accounting and used her skills assisting at the Fairborn Senior Center for many years and most recently serving as the Interim Executive Director of the Fairborn Area Chamber of Commerce.  Leona was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 6861.  Above everything else was Leona’s love for her family, and her smile, positive outlook, and kind words will be part of her legacy forever.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and an infant sister, Celeste.  Survivors include her husband of 35 years, David; two children, Bradley of Fairborn, Lynda (Alan) Cruzgoo of Fort Riley, Kansas; three grandchildren, Jacob, Miguel, Alycia; siblings, Alan, Michelle, and Scott; as well as other extended family and friends all around the world.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Paul Newman, Sr. officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Circle of Victory Fund, which provides assistance to cancer patients who live in Greene County.
