A message from LeaAnn’s mom:
Some of you will be very surprised about what I am about to share because it was a part of life I didn't share with everyone....not because I was ashamed or didn't care but because the story was complicated and hard to talk about. Others of you knew LeaAnn and I wanted you to know the end of the story. This beautiful girl came into my home on my birthday in 2005 when she was 9; our adoption was finalized 6 months later. She had a huge heart and a great sense of humor. She loved animals (especially her dog Dash) and babies and enjoyed talking with senior adults. She adored her Grandma Minnie (her foster mom) and her Grandma Combs. More than anything, LeaAnn wanted to belong and be loved. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to overcome the hurts of the past and she left when she was 18, the first of a series of destructive choices. Although our contact was infrequent, my hope was that one day our relationship would be restored. On Thursday, October 28, that hope was ended when LeaAnn breathed her last breath on this earth. I'm so thankful for the love and support I have been surrounded with and appreciate all of you who are thinking of and praying for me and who have reached out. This is not a journey I would have chosen but I know God is working even in this. I (and the rest of the family who loved her) appreciate your thoughts and prayers and all of the offers for assistance.
