Lavona Annette Ferguson

Lavona Annette Ferguson, age 90 of Fairborn passed away, peacefully, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family. She was born June 11, 1934, in Morgan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Virgil Taft and Carrie (Watkins) Lewis.

Lavona was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. As a dedicated member of the Christ Community Church in Medway, Ohio, she sang, worshiped, and grew in her faith for many years. She was passionate, kind, and charismatic. Above all, Lavona loved the Lord: her family stood witness to her tender heart for Him. In her free time, Lavona treasured her family, especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lavona is preceded in death by her dear husband, Dewey Pearl Ferguson; siblings, Patty Ann Kearns, Ruth Ham, and Robert Lewis. She is survived by three children, Tim (Vickie) Ferguson, Steve Ferguson, Matt (Janne) Ferguson; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; siblings, Mona Lucas, Roger Lewis, Joyce Poston, Carolyn Sue Johnson, Jim Lewis; extended family, close friends, and her church family.

The visitation will be held at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 4, 2024, and the funeral services will be held at Belton-Stroup the following morning at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 5, 2024, with Pastor Kenneth Majors officiating. The Burial will follow the funeral services and will be at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
