Laura Pennington

Laura Pennington, age 95 of Fairborn, passed away Monday February 7, 2022.  She was born May 26, 1926 in Elliott Co., KY, the daughter of the late Charlie and Alta (Fraley) Pennington.

She was employed at Inland Manufacturing / General Motors, retiring after over 20 years of service; and, she attended Edna Ave. Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Saundra Lane in 1994; 11 siblings, Coy Ronald Pennington, Willie Randiff Pennington, Glen Nelson Pennington, Gemina Lee Pennington, Dorothy DeHart, Lurene Ison, Allie Ann Anderson, Pearlie Black, Leeona Tackett, Monie Nadine Downing, and Martha Elizabeth Buttry; and two former husbands, Charles Lee Wells and James Poe.

Survivors include two daughters, Robyn Lee (Wells) Weddington and husband Rick of Fairborn, Penny (Wells) Watson and husband Garry of Jamestown; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jenna) Fitch, Lora (Jeff) Conrad, Crystal (Nate) Bassett, Daphne Damien Wilson, Cassaundra Fitch; five great-grandchildren, Brock Eaton, Arabella Eaton, Axel Hellickson, Savannah Bassett, Cheyenne Bassett; her last surviving sibling, her sister, Margery Griffith of Fairborn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 19, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Dr. Rev. Stuart Snow officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a church of the donor’s choice -or- the Alzheimer’s Association in Laura’s memory.
